HOW IT STARTED

This innovative concept started TEN years ago realising a long time dream. We created an intimate multipurpose venue suitable for accommodation, conferences, events, entertainment and functions. 

DEDICATED TO THE ARTS

Villa Pascal has been a culture leader in the Northern Suburbs, hosting, producing and nurturing cutting- edge entertainment. We are very committed to keep the Arts Alive in Durbanville.

We realized the growing demand for quality entertainment in Durbanville by offering a mosaic of entertainment to all age groups, thereby creating a new generation of theatregoers.

As part of our Arts Alive initiative, we are dedicated in promoting local talent.

By training and launching new entertainers, most of these young artists have already been successfully integrated into our mainstream events. We host Open Mic sessions as a platform for emerging entertainers of all genres, provide technical and management skills, as well as conducting entertainment industry workshops and  self help seminars where up and coming entertainers can learn skills that will create sustainable employment.

Both Daniele and Eugene received numerous community awards for outstanding service.

BUSINESS AND PLEASURE

At Villa Pascal we initiated various social clubs such as the Villa Pascal Opera Club, Durbanville Folk Music Society, Villa Pascal Ladies Club, Villa Pascal Social Club, Villa Pascal Business Club, all which have become excellent platforms in creating business opportunities and meeting people.

Past Shows

We have hosted various entertainment genres and themes from cabarets, tribute shows, 80's revues, jazz, rock, classical, opera, theatre shows, holistic workshops, Tango and Argentinean music, Irish,Moroccan, Klezmer, Russian, Gypsy, Spanish and Flamenco, World music, Belly dancing, West African pop/jazz, Cajun, French, blues, woogie boogie pianists, rock ‘n roll, Cape Minstrels, Cape goema,  acoustic guitar guru’s, sitar fundi's, washboard players,kwela and penny whistle.

Rock and Blues bands Akkedis, Southern Gypsy Queen and Boulevard Blues, The legendary Crocodile Harris, Folk icons Bill Knight and the late Syd Kitchen, Robin Auld, Guy Buttery, Nibs van der Spuy, Guitar masters  Steve Newman, Tony Cox and Trevor Nasser,  Jazz kings Alvyn Dyers, Erica Landy and Hilton Schilder,  Goema master Errol Dyers, Mr Showbiz Alvon Collison, Opera Diva Aviva Pelham, pianist entertainer extraordinaire Albie Louw, Heather Mac, Wendy Oldfield, Afrikaans icons Randall Wicomb, Sonja Herholdt, Valiant Swart, Danie Niehaus , Rocco de Villiers and many more.

 Several top international acts played at our venue and include amongst others British Woogie Boogie pianist Steve BIG MAN Clayton, Louisiana  Mud Shack Cajun Band, Belgium’s Meerstraat Gypsies, San Francisco Jazz Diva Opie Bellas, Angolese singer/songwriter Jason Tamba, USA Rock icon Shawn Phillips, British folk rock legends Magna Carta,Australian folk rocker Andrew Mscweeney, French chanteuse  Daniele Pascal (now living in South Africa). Recently we hosted Thai opera group Viva! Popopera to great success. Most of these entertainers make regular appearances at Villa Pascal.
